Re: Poetry Corner

I won't give up

There is a place in my heart that I long to see,
There is a person who I long to be.
I have dreams,
I have wishes.
Things I want to make reality,
Things I need to make reality.
I am the guardian of my happiness,
I am the gate keeper to dreams.
I hold the key to my success.
I can’t give up,
I can’t give in.
Its not only my happiness,
Its also the happiness of those I care about.

Re: Poetry Corner

The sun a golden disc
The sky forget me not blue.
Not a trace of cloud,
Nor a blemish to be seen:
The sky as perfect as can be.
Im on a journey of discovery,
A way to find myself.
What better way
To start the day
Than glorious sunshine.
The sun bathes the blossom,
Highlighting each fragile petal.
A bee lazily buzzes,
As it feasts upon sweet nectar.
The sun warms the flowers,
As it gives off its heady scent.
Drink deep fuzzy bee,
There is more delights awaiting.
More places to explore,
More beautiful flowers.
The flowers will guide you,
The path laid out before you.

Re: Poetry Corner

The night sky a shade of ebony
The stars a diamond dusting.
Who knows what the next day will bring
But one certainty is true:
The ever revolving comos,
Will carry on unbidden.
Each moment a new miracle
Each life a precious gift.
Im trying to think of the miracle
Behind each fragile leaf.
A simple thing can touch the heart
And bring a gift of a smile,
A hand reaching out in friendship.
Let hope soothe the aching soul.

Re: Poetry Corner

Just commenting on the longer lighter evenings, and how quickly dusk falls - cold tonight, so starry too @Pennywren.
Lovely poem!

Re: Poetry Corner

Thank you both of you.
Some times poems come easily and like this one the poems kind of create themselves with the odd word here and there spinning their own story

The seaside

I walk along the shore
The sand soft beneath my feet.
Behind me a line of footprints
Ahead the way is clear.
The waves roll by my side
A gentle constant murmer.
Beneath the turquoise waters
A myriad of life unfolds.
Fish all colours of the rainbow
Dart and zip about.
The sun glints of the water,
Sitting high in the sapphire skies.
The coral vibrant and beautiful,
Hosts a multitude of life.
Anemones wave in the currents
Each one teeming with life.
Life in full abundance
A haven before my eyes.
The way ahead of me is clear
I leave the pain and uncertainty behind.
I walk towards my brighter future,
The path I follow is in my heart
I let it lead my footsteps.
The beach is my haven
The serenity it brings.
The calm waters soothe my troubled mind,
And bring about balance.
Let the water wash away the pain
And leave behind a heart thats calmed.

Re: Poetry Corner

*Denizens of the night*

With a backdrop of glistening stars,
The tree stands tall and proud.
Its branches reach for the heavens
Each leaf reaching for the stars.
The moon shines with a gentle brilliance,
Her gaze loving and gentle.
She watches over the Earth below,
Her light guiding all to safety.
The silver moon beams
Light up the darkness
Chasing away the shadows.
The tree is bathed in a silver glow
Shimmering with anticipation.
The night is young,
The denizens of the night awakening:
The fox and cubs out for a night time feast,
The owl on its silent vigil,
A tiny mouse scurries by
And far off a badger stirs.
The night has just begun.
