I wouldn't think so as it wouldn't actually reduce the competition, which seems to be the reason for blocking the Three merger.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Apart from the fact that the owner of Liberty Global is known as 'The Cable Cowboy', then no, as there would still be four networks. If they make a bid, they would obviously have to do their due diligence, but if they were given a clean bill of health there should be nothing to prevent it.

Mmmm...I never understood why they allowed the BT/EE merger if they were going to get on their high horse about O2 and 3....but then mine is not to reason why....Fear

BT/EE didn't reduce the number of network operators.

Well in a way it does, as thats one less MVNO to challenge the network owners. Its just pure nonsense in my humble opinion.

If Liberty Global buy O2 I will be gone as fast as I can.  I've never had Virgin Mobile but I unfortunately have their internet and TV (only 9 months until the end of my contract!) and I've had far too many dealings with their so called customer service over the broadband.  They make Vodafone seem efficient.

I think it's sad. Also O2 has probably been slowing down a lot (system updates and changes etc) whilst they were waiting for this merger....better start pulling their finger out now...

I must admit I got rid of Virgin BB and landline as fast as I could. Their price increases were completely random and at times to suit themselves... Ridiculous. They priced themselves out of the market for me...
