Headline : 'Terror' wi-fi signal leaves LA-London flight grounded

Excerpts from the Link "A wi-fi signal named "Al-Quida Free Terror Nettwork" (sic) has resulted in a long delay for passengers on a plane at Los Angeles airport."

My thoughts :

Unbelievable that someone would think to re name their wifi this ?

I recall other instances where one passenger said I'm sorry my friend was late checking in, he was putting Semtex in his watch.

Suffice I say the Captain refused to let them board !

Are airports still in high alert ?

Wasn't the Uk alert system put to high for imminent attack or something similar. Perhaps that's why this action happened with the aircraft.

See, thats different, thats pretty much referencing a bomb which will ensure you are dragged from a flight and interrogated!

However, a wifi SSID is harmless and there would be no way for them to track it down successfully even if it was a crime!

Now if they had called the Wifi network something like "THERE'SABOMBONTHISPLANE"* I could have understood the hysteria and the need to ground planes!

*Note to the NSA or other agencies: This was just an example, I have placed any bombs on a plane and don't intend to!*
