Have done - he's at his girlfriend's now, she made the cake, it had a cache of smarties inside it too. Very tasty - good to have a girlfriend at catering college birthday

MS has pulled the update

I would recommend stopping the Windows update service and nuking the contents of C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download (patches/updates get downloaded there first before installation)

np, managed to catch mine before it actually installed, as I'm running Pro I can actually pause the updates for a number of days, I'm not sure if those using Home can though.

I wouldn't like to be working in a Microsoft tech support call centre at the moment.

I've had to stop using Office for Yahoo mail. I'm now using the built in windows email which had no problem setting up the account. Even using the exact same settings for Office as Window's settings, I'm getting no joy so I'm hoping a patch may fix it. Other than that I will have to contact Microsoft. As I said, it's no biggie but damned annoying when something that should work, did work and is entirely down to upgrading Window. Just my OCD...

@jonsie

Are you using Office 2016 (via a 365 subscription)?

If you are, go into Outlook, File tab, click Office Account and check for updates?

Sorry but I have to ask, is this on a laptop that you frequently just suspend rather than closing down, if so, try a restart as the MAPI process could be on the blink.

My little heart nearly stooped yesterday as Windows 10 had done an update needing a reboot. Luckily it was still for 1803 relieved

Has anyone else noticed an obvious loss of speed after the latest update ... = ... this on a laptop

Excuse me, but it could just be my laptop updating itself & I truly don't know if this is the same thing = sorry
