I would say this gathered info needs to be forwarded by site staff here and channeled up to where the social media staff have got their info and O2 and Apple bash their heads together !

I'm a little confused reading these threads. I currently have an iPhone 5 with 02 and upgraded to iOS 8.1 and I have the 2G toggle again. Does this mean if I upgrade to an iPhone 6, this function will go?

You'll lose it if you upgrade to a 4g tariff. The 3G toggle is replaced with a 4G toggle.

All of the iPhone 6 tariff's say 4G ready so I suppose I'll have no choice? I don't really even want 4G!

I hated not being able to turn 3G off. I don't have wifi at work, only at home so I end up using more data :(

I'm not convinced that 4G users more than 3G data wise. You're just online longer or can stream content better as its faster.

However having 4G toggled on does use more battery juice.

I usually leave 2G data on all day and then put 3G data on when I am on my break so that all my data doesn't vanish lol

It's interesting to read of other people's preferences and how they tweak certain settings.

What I think is weird is the fact that my wife's iPhone 5 (still on iOS 8.0.1) on O2 P&G has a toggle switch to enable 4G (as detailed here:http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Apple-iOS-Devices-iPhone-iPad/4G/m-p/770193#M128478)  - even when the iPhone 5 is NOT capable of 4G on O2??!?!?! I think I speak for most people when I say that I am very confused about all of this!!

Apple say one thing.  O2 say another thing.  It is as if they are not communicating with eachother at all.

We (iPhone users) have been promised the toggle network option for a while now.  Both Apple have prommised it and so have O2.  We were given hope by the recent iOS update which told us we now had the option, however we don't.  On speaking to Apple, they tell us that it is up to O2 to allow us to do this with their carrier update, however O2 are now claiming that it is not possible to do.

My mind boggles....... Crazy
