Hi folks     Those of you who followed my story will know I was sad when I didnt reach the criteria for a Hearing Dog for the Deaf.

Ive now been offered a Sounds Support Dog. The process is underway but could take a while .

More news shortly Bouncy

Many thanks very kind thought. Yes he is gentle . Loki is too nervous to be a fully fledged Hearing Dog. They need to go everywhere. But Loki Im sure will ,with time and gentle encouragement, go to more and more places around here with us. And he coped with the sea !!!

We have a little beach hut, I swim. So it would have been awkward if he'd been frightened off of the sea. The strange thing is he's nervous of new places, or busy crowded roads. But being swallowed by a wave didn't ruffle him one bit 😉

That's wonderful @Jenny105, I'm so happy to hear everything went so well wth Loki! What are the next steps now, is he already staying home with you, or do you know when he'll fully join your family?

Hi one week to go......

Its quite arduous, if that's the right word, Even getting a dog that isnt a full Hearing Dog is tough.   I'm now doing extra day  induction. No  one has explained why !! I find that disconcerting.

Things that were mentioned on the visit were - my fridge is low down,  only throw a ball 2-3 times, every other day,  worries about other peoples picnics at the beach hut area we use, chasing other dogs balls etc.

Ah wel i guess it ll all work out in the end.

They have to make you aware of these things but I think it's just procedure and everything will work out for you.

Fingers crossed fingers_crossed
