Last Saturday I adopted a cat because
This is the original story I came across :
😻 ADOPTION IN PROGRESS 😻
🧡 Chester - the forgotten cat 🧡
Wouldn’t you think that after being on the streets for so long, - neglected and with every day a struggle to survive - Chester would have completely lost faith in humans?
Not so. It’s amazing how stoic, resilient and forgiving our beautiful furry friends are. Here is Chester after a week in foster care. He’s possibly the most affectionate, loving and gentle cat we’ve ever had the privilege of caring for.
On Thursday, Chester had all his fur taken off at the vets, apart from his face and legs (the only bits of him not matted). He had his first vaccination, had his gungey ears cleaned out and was microchipped to Cat Friends of Hyndburn. Last week he was also flea and worm treated. The full works 😻
We did buy him a jumper to keep his skinny little body warm but, in true independent cat style, he managed to wriggle his booty out of it on the first night 😻
Chester was probably resigned to living the life of a street cat but thanks to every one of you who donated to his care, we were able to help out the rescue that found him by taking him in and funding his treatment.
We will let you into a secret. Just like all the other rescues who were probably approached to take Chester in, Cat Friends didn’t have any spare funds either. We simply knew that our loyal, caring Cat Friends would come to the rescue and, if not, we would work that bit harder to make sure we could rescue him ♥️♥️
Chester would like to thank you all from the very bottom of his furry ginger boots for giving him the chance of a new life, where he will be loved and treasured for the rest of his days ♥️♥️
Oh, did we forget to mention? Chester’s homecheck has been passed today ♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️

I have used the water pistol trick when one of my cats decided my garden containers was the place he could do his business. He soon took the hint! (no longer with us now)
Cats can cause problems with neighbours though. We live in a cul de sac and one of our neighbours got very annoyed with me over our ginger cat Gizmo. He said he was always digging up the plants in his garden and messing in there.
I pointed out there was a stray doing the rounds, also ginger and not my cat. Just at the time we were having this heated discussion, said stray strolled round the corner and the neighbour said 'there he is again the b******!'
I said not mine, Pulled out my phone and showed him a picture of Gizmo, pointing out no white on his face, no white paws and no white in his tail.
As the neighbour was blustering his apologies, the stray started to scratch in his bed of flowers to do his business. I just said 'case closed I think?' He couldn't apologise enough

Marty pees and poos outside as he refuses to use the litter tray
Somewhere there is a large heapa heapa steaming as I say somewhere
It could be on the rough path opposite to the towpath where the permanent moorings are and where I think he catches little shrews - 1st thing he does is bite off its tail, hopefully I get there first and collect said sorry state specimen and take it down to rough area as said above whilst Marty is secured in the kitchen
Shrews can play doggo under cars - I got one out using the yard broom to deposit it in the rough when it started wriggling in my cupped hands = it got to live another day

I take it you're not an animal lover / little old lady lover @Anonymous
Tell me something good about them because all I see here is them eating other people's food, crapping in other peoples garden & upsetting the neighbours!

Furry little creatures ... soft to the touch ... warm to cuddle ... great to snuggle up to ... don't ask for much ... give you Unconditional Love ... greet you when you get home from a good or bad day ... someone to talk to in your home ... warm your feet when curled up at the bottom of your bed ... greet you in a morning ... are much more independent than dogs

Seems like I didnt sent my answer...
Happy for you @jonsie and Chester too. Such a nice little guy!
And sad on the other side you won't go back to Thailand - but I guess it wouldn't be easy with a disability.
