Rumours are rife that TalkTalk have purchased Tesco Broadband and Blinkbox.
Blinkbox had gotten into some debt, however it will not be transferred in the sale. It has not been confirmed that Tesco Broadband will change its name.
Is this TalkTalk's next big step into the big league?

It makes sense though.
You want to enjoy the countryside and greenery and have no big skyscrapers or masts all over the place, yet to get the full coverage you'd need to skyscraper buildings and masts?
Catch 22....

I knew it...very articulate and passionate about your right to live where you want and not be penalised by an inferior service @Anonymous
I think the lack of progress in this area.. purely makes those who live in rural areas feel like second rate citizens
I have no problems as such but family members who live in beautiful rural areas, only 3 miles from me, struggle with broadband...and signal issues for mobiles.

My brother in law who lives in a beautiful big house in the country.......(a house which cost a hell of a lot of money I might add) was told by Virgin he could get an improvement in his broadband service if he paid some massive cost toward the laying of the cable......:smileysad:
He is now with Sky....
We used to joke with them that they could afford a house like that... but still couldn't get the same level of service as us.....(the poor relations)

This thread is going a bit off-topic now.
This thread is about Tesco Broadband being sold to TalkTalk.
If you want to discuss your coverage and speeds then maybe you should create a new thread.

Hi Nick - @Anonymous
I'm not sure about air pollution but it's fair to agree that the air I breathe isn't as clean as some one in a rural location.
Crime happens everywhere so I don't personally think it matters nowadays where one resides.
Of course traffic management can be an issue. I'm sure in some rural areas the places where bikers like to whizz along the country lanes , this causes issues. Not to mention tractors pulling various loads 😉
I think we've all seen the media coverage on rural network mobile and home broadband issues. The promises of infrastructure investment which I've created threads on myself.
Many that seem to have fallen by the wayside.
Maybe it has to do with cost vs actual customer saturation in these rural areas , I'm not sure. Supply and demand scenario.
Maybe is something to do with the opinions of NIMBY outlook.
All of us could do with perhaps doing a little more "homework" as everyday is a school day.
Even though I live in the concrete jungle - kind of surrounded by masts etc even I still get black spots / not spots.
I use Bt Infinity Broadband which gives me around 40mpbs download speeds. The exchange box is not too far away so I'm lucky in that respect. Although it's a little too far away to warrant upgrading to the next level as my speeds wouldn't greatly improve.
I hope you see where I'm coming from.
My apologies @gemz4the1 if is tray off topic -> I just thought it good manners to reply to Nick.
