Rumours are rife that TalkTalk have purchased Tesco Broadband and Blinkbox.

Blinkbox had gotten into some debt, however it will not be transferred in the sale.  It has not been confirmed that Tesco Broadband will change its name.

Is this TalkTalk's next big step into the big league?

Cheers @bandofbrothers. A thoughtful and constructive post. I think it is fair to say that with the loss of Tesco Broadband, we are likely to see more takeovers which will ultimately reduce choice in what is currently a very competitive market keeping costs down.

It should also be noted that this thread is in the "off topic" area and as such these topics do expand and go into different areas. That is why we have these discussion boards, so that we can talk to each other and share good ideas.

Agree with that...I personally have learnt a great deal more by additional postings on this topic.

As someone who wishes to keep learning (and keep my brain active) I am grateful it did expand slight_smile

.....And now this thread has turned into a discussion as to why I think it is going more off-topic than it should.

I know that all threads go a bit off-topic and as this is a thread in the off-topic section it is allowed.

My only concern was that the thread discussion was not going in the direction that was intended when I created the thread.

Then it is a decision for the moderators if they wish to review the thread and make any adjustments.

The general view on here is that the thread has expanded and added value to the debate which is what I thought the Community was all about.

Hi @gemz4the1

Totally agree that as long as what is discussed is relevant or at least has some type of relevence, ie the chat does not go to talking about football for example, then threads like these can allow members both new and regular to learn.

Hopefully new members see we all chat together and it's not all about technical knowledge.

I think as a duty of care we should try and help keep threads On Topic, which many regulars here have requested in past threads.

At the end of the day that's what the innapropiate button is for so a moderator can officially decide.

There is nothing inappropriate in this thread at all.

I am getting a bit worried that we will shortly have so many guidelines to posting and what constitutes going off topic.... that we will be afraid to post anything at all.

It is a thread full of interest to those who wish to learn. I do...there is nothing wrong with that.

Argh cool. Let's talk about watching the footy on tesco broadband until it becomes talk talk.

Seriously though @Anonymous is right. We are not the moderation team. By all means flag it if you feel it has gone off topic and we can all accept the moderation decision in the usual way.

I for one don't feel it has and stand by each of my posts and thank the others for their contributions.

Yes @Cleoriff (and this one post IS off topic) we may see a day when, as a result of this type of issue ALL threads and posts will be reviewed by moderators before they go public.

Is that what we want people cos that is the way it will head. Be careful what you wish for. ......

Now back on topic. Footy on tesco broadband
