Sir Henry Moore ... old alumni of where I went to Senior school.

'I'd rather have my sculpture in the landscape, than on the most beautiful building I know'

One of his recurring themes ... ... ... King and Queen ... ... ... in Scotland, I believe, hopefully still in situ.

One of my favourite pieces of his work, yes we studied his work to GCE A level in 3D Art classes

Image may contain: table and indoor

A long-stitch tapestry I did from a kit and which my then husband had framed for me.

Lovely photo, landscape looks like Scotland.

The tapestry looks lovely and warm. Bet it took ages to finish!

Lovely topic.

@Anonymous You are certainly talented, producing such a tapestry.

Any photos of your watercolours @TallTrees

I have done several of these long stitch kit tapestries for friends and family

My sister designs her own and does tapestry the traditional way = stitch in each hole of the canvas

Thank you for your kind words TallTrees

Thank you @pgn

I have done fishing boats on a pebble beach - tuxedo cat amongst flowers - a Mediterranean garden - anenomies in a bowl & a Middle Eastern one which is almost finished, but cannot hold the bodkin anymore slight_frown

I wouldn't like to say how long each tapestry took as they are all different sizes.

I do like the Autumn colours in the tapestry I posted a photo of.

Thanks @Anonymous

The painting is Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali. I like the whole surreal concept and the questions it raises - are they clocks or pocket watches? why are they melting? what does it mean? - and rather than offer my answers to those questions, think it better for each person viewing it to have his/her own answers and interpretation as to what it means and represents...

Hello @Mi-Amigo

Very nice picture.  I agree with you @Mi-Amigo

This is a very nice topic.

Hope to continue the thread with other art items that we like.

Thank you @Anonymous

I do have some paintings of my own on the wall.

I will take one or two and post them here.

I also did "china painting"  I really enjoyed that.

You need a kiln, I used the one at the college.

The Persistence of Memory - Salvador Dali ... which you @Mi-Amigo have posted as your favourite painting

I am hopeless with the Surrealists @Mi-Amigo

I just have loads of questions : what is that object which looks like it has been beached upon the shore with a bill like a duck and has a floppy pocket watch upon it

Why are the pockets watches floppy

There are ants on a tray-like pocket watch

There seems to be a solar powered block levitating

A dead tree growing out of a table

A nice seashore in the distance

Only questions, I have with the Surrealists

There were a group of talented students of Art in Senior school a couple of years above me and what they painted was superb ... Surrealist type paintings on the walls of the Art room
