Just thought I would add another
This place has gotten a whole lot worse lately, part's of this board are turning in to a social media forum full of non related rubbish & link's being posted just so users post counts go higher, carry on like this & it will be as bad as the Giff Gaff forum!
I know im a happy ex O2 customer, looking at the state of this forum it would certainly put me of ever rejoining.

So I will just add to this discussion. I am not at all technical but love to learn new things. I can help on certain threads but know my limitations.
I am more likely to be asking questions than attempting to answer them
I do tend to hang around Off Topic but if I start a thread it is usually about medical innovations or developments.
It's rare for me to sit on the fence, though I am between a rock and a hard place with this one....
I look at it this way.....if I don't want to participate in a thread or topic. I just don't bother getting involved in it.

One key issue is that the written word can so easily be read in a different way to that intended. Likewise someone reading a post may be in a different or bad place when reading it and thus it may come across other than intended. Finally one persons humour may be another's stress.
This is one of the hard challenges of my job Nick and you hit the nail on the head. Everyone here is very confident, strong-willed and sure of their views and abilities, which is wonderful. We are however all very different indeed and its hard to please everyone in all aspects of the community; Nigh on impossible in fact. We all need to be adaptable to each other. This what being in a community is all about
Its not just this though that makes our job a healthy challenge, its also how brand new members are welcomed/introduced to the community, which adds a whole new level to how comments/threads/tone can be perceived, especially when lots of you are very close friends to begin with.
The community team and I don't ever want anyone to feel that just because they are the way they are (unless they are abusive of course), they cannot get involved on this community. I'm sure you would all agree with this.
Get involved:
• New to the community? This is how you get help.
• Want to know who we are? Come and say hi to us.
• Want to have a chat? Drop me a direct message.

Hi guys,
Thank you for raising your concerns and giving views and feedback. As Toby mentioned were are looking into
making the guidelines a bit more specific and adding some more information in the hopes that it will make things clearer, and hoping also that it can be referred to more easily when thinking of e.g. what kind of content to post or not to post, in which section etc. As for the Rewards and other points mentioned, let us look into those to see what we can do. I see we have some interesting ideas here already.
We will look at all your comments when thinking of future developments and the guidelines - I'll post more info on that soon so everyone is aware, so look out for that. If you have further questions feel free to send me a PM.

....Any rewards should be presented based on actual helpful and accurate answers given on the main help sections of the boards.
Demerits should be applied for blatantly incorrect or copied answers (which would reduce this activity) and awarded solutions should promote more user points for the month.
Any reward system is a) Good for the community and b) Bad for the community - the key is how it is managed
Great idea @MI5

I agree that completely incorrect answers (which I do sometimes as I read the question wrong) and answers which are copied word for word from links are wrong and should be negative points towards the rewards system.
Hopefully the O2 team can find a solution to replace the current rewards system. Some good ideas have been floating round by different members.
