Going to O2

I'm currently with Vodafone and looking to go to O2 (Also have Virgin home internet as of recent) But I would like to trade in my old phone which is out of contract with Vodafone. But when looking in-to what's available it only suggests to recycle my old phone. Yes I do get an amount for the phone. But would like to put it towards the monthly payment for the new contract, rather then a 1 off payment.

Any suggestions? Or is it just take out the new contact and sent the old one back via the Recycling method?

Thanks,

ND

You can choose what to do with the payment from O2 recycle.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Try USWITCH

https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/

Choose the deal you want

This will automatically redirect you to the O2 website

Just follow the prompts and choose the UPGRADE option

Complete the deal and nothing on your account changes except the tariff at the new cheaper cost

Payment date is the same and your next bill will be at the cheaper rate and will be made up of the pro rata cost of your old tariff and your new tariff

The change should show in My O2 within 24 hours

Recycle via O2 https://www.o2.co.uk/help/digital-services/o2-recycle

Do get a PAYG SIM and check O2 signal and data where you live and travel before you jump. Don't trust coverage maps.

No good tying yourself in to a contract if you have poor reception

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Have you considered selling your existing handset to CEX, to a local secondhand mobile 'phone shop or privately via ebay ?
