Make sure the people messaging you are using the correct number format.
They should start your number with 0044 and then remove the first zero, so 00447********
It's always free to receive text messages so no worries about credit or account limits.
Also try turning off your phone and removing the sim card to discharge any static.
Replace sim card before turning phone back on again.
