I use an iPhone SE and have a 24 month O2 unlimited 5GB contract which I purchased from a 3rd party supplier as they offered a lower cost than dealing wih O2 direct for the same contract.

I have heard a rumour that 3rd party suppliers provide slower data speeds than contract purchased from the operators direct.

Is this a fact?

No that's nonsense, you get the same data speeds wherever you bought the phone

No that's not true at all.

Your cntract is still with O2 on the same O2 network as everyone else is.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

That is as I understood it to be but it does raise the question "how do 3rd party suppliers manage to offer O2 contacts at a lower cost than O2 direct?"

O2 pay them commission to sell contracts and they use some of that to lower their prices to sell more contracts.
