(battery) life of Pie

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi

Please excuse the attempt at humour with the title.

I'm running a Nokia 5 (update problem has now corrected itself) and I believe that Android 9 is due to roll out to the generic firmware version in the New Year.

I know that Google has said they have focused on battery life management and have read some reports that it's much improved under Pie.

I get about 2 days in a bad signal area with about 4 hours of screen usage, has anyone noticed any better battery life on their device (any make and model) since they upgraded versus Oreo 8.1.0?

Just interested.

Brilliant title @Anonymous joy

It;s a really interesting question, I'd be very curious to hear others' experiences on this as well!

@EmilieT

Cheers

I'd imagine once Pixel 3 users receive their devices we might find out.

Early days for me as yet as only updated yesterday on my OP6 but not noticed any difference as yet (good or bad).
I'll try and remember to update after a few days when everything has settled down.

So, one week on and battery life about the same, maybe slightly better by around 5% at the end of the day, however, I am now running some of the parallel apps, which I assume will use more battery, so overall, Oreo does show an improvement on battery life.
