I have just received and e-mail saying 02 putting my bill up!!!! They have lost service twice this year!!!! Poultry offer of 10 per customer who could fathom out how to get it..If I wanted to lower my bill because of this service, they would have stopped my account and sent letters etc!!! Who thinks that they are wrong to put up bills during contractual service agreement, if not legally, then certain morally. I for one am sick and fed up with these companies doing whatever they want and us as their customers have no choice. Who thinks this is wrong??? I for one will tell everyone to twitter and facebook everything. I am about to send a message to o2 asking to be released from my contract early, on principle more than anything..Please please, all do this then perhaps the high commanders at o2, whatever country they are in, may, just may listen.....

You will not be released early from your contract, the reasons have already been well discussed here.
If you searched first you would have seen several threads already on this:

and here:
A read of your contract may help too.

thats why they get away with it with that sort of attitude...and believe me, if you look at there year end figures, they dont need the money!!! corporate greed and share holder expectations. i will have to get my bank to refuse the money then at least they will spend the money of administration and postage. apathy aint it!!!

Are you also boycotting Supermarkets in fact all shops, gas and electricity, Fuel stations Etc etc?
Have a look at the big picture and you will see o2 were the last phone carrier to do this and others have done it at least twice.
Price Hike is a bit extreme. People on the highest tariff i believe will get an increase of about £1.92, hardly crippling!

What sort of attitude?
I doubt you are as familiar with the finances as you think you are, it's also worth pointing out that O2 were the only UK company never to have done this before, Vodafone have done it twice.
I very much doubt 3.2% is going to break the bank either when you look at power charge increases over the last few years, it's only about 12 to 25 pence a week for most people.

what a silly response, i have to eat!!!! i have to drive and own a house and also keep family warm, i do not need a phone. I can understand you all protecting o2, was always a good service, but not essential. I can only react to what has happened to me, not vodafone/orange/ etc customers. principle, i agreed a price with o2, and whether their small print allows it or not, they would not allow me to lower my contract rate!!!! besides, december inflationn is the highest it is expected to be, thats why they are doing it now, not because they are the best, but maybe the more astute.

We're not protecting anybody, just telling you a few facts about your contract that you didn't appear to know.
We would all like to see prices never rise, but from my experience O2 have not increased their prices for about five years, how many companies can say that?

See its all about perspective.
You say its silly, then get rid of your mobile phones and your car. They are not needed they are a luxury.
Start growing your own fruit and veg, cook them on methane.
We do not need anything but we chose to pay for these things. I chose to except a miniscule price increase from o2 because if I had been with any other phone carrier it would have been more.

cant win with o2 community i guess, but do you mind me quoting you and your name when i phone o2, this is my first contact with anyone from o2, and you can guess where my wifes end of contract wont be going this month....well i will use your name anyway. dont ever presume that people dont know financials, and dont ever talk down to people.....if you have a phone number i can contact you on, please advise it, then we can discuss ending my wifes contract with o2, which expired a few days ago. mine will follow at the end of my contract, again principle. i await your contact number, because fo the life of me, i may know your small print, but i cant find an e-mail to contact a proper o2 customer service.
