o2 has placed a default on my credit history in 2010 with out any notice

i recently done a credit check on my financial history and i have noticed it has placed a default on my account. i joined o2 pay monthly in december 2008 , in june 2010 i transferred over to pay as you go using the same phone number . On my credit check its showing my o2 account to be in arrears from july 2010 to november 2010 then the default was placed on my account on december 2010. To my recollection i never recieved any letters of the outstanding balance of £6.00 or a default notice for the account. How can o2 put a default on my account with out a notice and why where there no letters or dd for the outstanding balance ? I feel i have been unfarely treated by o2 and with this default on my account i am struggling financially as my credit score is low . In my contract i have always paid my bills , my actual contract was £29.79 a month .

who will i need to speak to , to sort this out ?

regards mark

Let us know how you get on with having the default removed.

It may take a lot of perserverence and patience on your part but keep pushing and you should get this resolved. Start off with the complaint form and keep on at O2 until you get it sorted. Others have been successful so let us know how you get on.

so far i ve sent an email ten days ago about the default notice on my on my account, it does say on the auto response that credit referrals with get back to me within ten days so far nothing , email number 2 sent , think the next port of call would be to send letter recorded delivery to them to see what response i get , does anyone know where i would go if o2 don't reply to my either my letters or emails?

You can make a formal complaint here:

http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=Companion,question=ref%28User%29:str%28Mob...

If O2 don't respond within 8 weeks of your original complaint you can go to the Ombudsman.

a we update for yous all ,

I've sent several emails but had no reply or still waiting for one , i had spoken to someone at o2 on their live chat , they had a look into my situation , he found out that my account at time of contract had no outstanding balance but actual credit of £6.48 , I'm in credit (lmao)  yet my account has been put in arrears and defaulted , what the heck is going on at o2 ? i honestly can't believe am in credit with a default on my credit history, The last person i spoke to at o2 before dealing with default had said to me that the score wouldn't effect my finances much yet i'm sitting here with letters from company's rejecting my applicatons due to poor credit score , o2 know nothing
