Well, O2 are not getting the N900.

This is what I've been told yesterday, I've been speaking to them many times regarding this, and as my upgrade was due last month 16th-Oct, I decided to wait and see if O2 will get it, But nope they are not getting it, at least not in the coming six weeks and my contract runs out 16th-Jan. So Im leaving O2 :robotindifferent:

So Im taking it on T-Mobile or Orange, not Vodafone (dont like them) Or I might buy the phone directly from expansys for 499,- quid! and change to simplicity! See how it goes. If I can get it for a good deal.

I've been with O2 3 years now, but it might be time to go wink

Personally I'm going to wait a bit longer and see who carries the SE Xperia X10 which is due for launch soon.

mobiles.co.uk (CPW) are showing it as coming soon and the breadcrumbs trail is under 02 phones

Not getting my hopes up but I'll go wherever the X10 goes, so long as its either O2 or VF (can't get any other network here)

omar,

Join the rest of us that are/have left/leaving o2, they live in the ark i'm sure.

They seriously need to sort out their offerings on the table as at present a lot of people seem to be leaving it!

I never thought I'd leave o2, but since moving to Vodafone they have been nothing but helpful, had a chap call me today just to ensure that everything went through smoothly, doubt you'd get that with o2 if you moved to them, not that I'd want to now!

Like you I wanted the N900 even though I bought a second hand n97 not so long back, will wait to see when vodafone offer it then probably sign up with them, I'm on the £20 a month for 600mins ultd txts & internet atm. Can get an mms bolt on for £2 which gives you 50mms if you needed it.

Irrelevant anyway if you have an n900; it doesn't do MMS.

Nope, not at this moment, but I never use MMS. And it seems like its coming soon or later.

The guy from O2 did say that they didnt get N97 as well, so he didnt see the point of getting the N900. He was asking me about the n900 as he didnt seems to know anything about it and did try to sell me the Palm Pre or HTC :robotindifferent:

Hehe, I think O2 lost it, they lost the iPhone and dont have much phones to offer to their customers!

why oh why does everyone think the n900 is so great

its running hardware that other phones have had for a year

soon people will be using 1ghz snapdragons with accelerated 3dgfx and open gui graphics

camera modules are allready up to 8-12mp and some have xenon

i understand its new and nokia but is it really new?? how well will maemo 5 be supported?? how will the n900 be supported?? it doesnt even have turn by turn sat nav out of the box or mms and the whole phone has to be run in landscape mode apart from the phone app?? thats right a phone app as it is a tablet with a phone application hence why it runs in landscape all the time

i think a few peopl will be dissapointed by the n900 when the expect a smartphone , it will be like a smartphone but it will be more like a tablet with a phone app

ive read many stories of bloggers finding it very hard to adapt to the n900 in everyday use as it has to have the keyboard out alot and be run in landscape which in some situations isnt going to work great compared to a proper phone in the same situation

with nokia track record i would wait and see how it pans out

talk of maemo 6 allready which supports portrait mode and capatative touch screen

please excuse spelling

hope you all enjoy it when its ut and dont end up with another n97 on your hands

Well its a new phone and a new OPEN platform!
It got a high resolution screen, better and bigger than the iPhone!
32GB and a slot for a memory card!
Removable battery!
Real multimedia player, can handle lots of formats, xvid, divx!
And I could go on...

But the important thing is that O2 are not being up-to-date with phones they can offer to their customers. They got so many customers with the iPhone last 3years or so and now they lost the iPhone, so they are not bothering much with getting new phone or even dont care! They dont even know what this phone is!

That all said, I will wait untill mid december and decide, either leave O2 or stay with them! They didnt now even bother asking why would I leave them!
