Despite preordering my device on Saturday evening (15th Sep), I was filled with disspointment when I arrived home to find nothing. No iPhone, just sadness.:smileysad:
(I mean, what's the point of PREordering something if I don't get it on time)...
Last night (20th Sep), I recieved an email saying 'You did it. Your iPhone 5 order is in our system'. This filled me with fear as I interperated this as 'we have just seen your order, we'll send it soon'. And as a result - no iPhone.
I have checked on my order staus and all it's giving me is 'In Progress' (I can only assume this means it hasn't been sent).
Ive been with O2 all my life, and I thought this would have been simple. My friends that have ordered with Orange and CarphoneWarehouse have recieved their phones but sadly not me.
I've tweeted to O2 and called them up, no luck.
Just wondering if anyone else is awaiting their phone, I ordered the 64GB model so I can't imagine that it would be out of stock. Also, does anyone know what 'In Progress' means?!!
Thanks.

I have been down this route before when trying the O2 broadband when moving home.. canceled with that.. id dread to think how much ive spent with these over the years and been quite happy but the last 2 years shocking.. oh well ive seen a iPhone 5 now as a few of my friends randomly went into carphone warehouse looking for any old phone and walked out with ummm a iPhone 5 with orange and to be honest a better service as the data is better and I dont know if it is right but 4G first when it comes before xmas.. O2, O2, O2... very very very disapointed they are loosing it BIG time and im sure a lot of customers but hey ho they still make loads of profit from the rest of us that stay so sod the ones thats not happy getting nothing that was promised!!!!!!

I just can't believe how pathetic a job 02 have made of this. It clearly stated on the website that anyone who pre-ordered before 4pm the day before launch would recieve an iphone 5 on the day of launch. They even stated on Facebook on Thursday that they would aim to deliver all pre-orders on Friday. What is so annoying is that a quick search of the retail stock shows all local 02 shops have various amounts of available stock. How on earth 02 cannot prioritise their stock to cover those of us upgrading and pre-orders as clearly promised on this website is scandalous.
Trying to get any form of contact and satisfactory reply is almost impossible, and 02 have really let their customers down. It was a simple excercise for them to calculate how many customers were elegible for an upgrade in the weeks before the iphone 5 was released, and thus have enough stock to cover this.
A big big black mark for 02 on this occasion I'm afraid....

Hi phj,
I'm sorry to hear about that. I've made a statement here. Feel free to join in the discussion.
