iPhone 5 - 12 Month Contract for Exisiting Customers

Anonymous
Not applicable

I am wondering if O2 themselves can shed some light on why the iPhone 5 is currently only available on 24 month contracts?

As an existing customer with any other phone I can upgrade to a 12 month contract but it is not giving me the option on the iPhone 5.

If this is in fact the case I think it's ridiculous that O2 are taking advantage of the situation and not being loyal to their exisiting customers (as this is what they bang on about a lot). ie. 12 month contracts for exisiting customers (which is advertised in their current magazine).

Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Gave it another quick try, but nothing new, really:

no info at the moment - only 24 months contract

Once I get more info, I'll update the thread.

Don't hold your breath. O2 do not care about existing customers. That is blatently obvious with their actions over the alst few days. Just give up and go to a supplier that may care what its customers want.

Same as the other guys, I'm eligible to upgrade and was highly dissappointed to see there are only 24month contracts available or choose the top one - £63 a month and can upgrade after 18months. This is still a long time & ideally I'd like a 12month so will have 2 wait and see if they release any.

Folks,

O2 don't want my Platinum (their label not mine) business worth c. £3,500 p/a on one iPhone; they will only offer me their uncompetitive longer term contract for the iPhone 5... and this from a network that went on meltdown recently and aren't offering 4G!

The message is clear, move away from O2 to a forward thinking provider that gives you what you want.

voda are doing 12 month agreements at http://www.vodafone.co.uk/brands/iphone/pay-monthly-iphone/index.htm They dont make you wait in a long line on the phone, are pleasant and generally their feel is light years ahead of O2 'Platinum'.

I've unlocked my 4s for sale, got my PAC code and voda are delivering the 64gb iPhone 5 this weekend.

So long O2, never again... you've been really poor and your arrogance is astonishing.

As a loyal customer of over 10 years I am really disappointed with O2's lack of communication and reward for its loyal customers. In the current climate I would have thought O2 would want to retain its loyal customer base to keep ahead of its competition. Instead I am now having to contemplate leaving O2 to join a competitor just to have a 12 month contract. I don't want to be tied into a 24 month. I want to keep up to date and have the latest handset.

Please O2. Listen to your customers and respond to us.

Rant over.
