complete unwillingness to do a deal

Hi,
Whats changed since my previous renewal to make o2 completely opposed to making a deal with renewing customers? currently on an iphone tariff (£40 with £15 discount (£25)) and they won't even try and shift from their normal prices on regular tariffs if i were to change my phone.
A ridiculous stance that has forced me to go elsewhere.

I know the feeling. I remember when O2 used to have their "VIP" service called O2 Select. It's probably like Readers Digest telling you that you are the special prize winner... Probably will be my last contract with O2 now and drop to 30day simplicity/migrate elsewhere...
I also remember reading an online article going back a year or so where someone from O2 was explaining the special rewards that O2 retentions staff would get for winning a customer over... One of them being a holiday abroad..
As mentioned earlier, they are after all a profit making company...

They still have a similar system to o2 select. It's now called o2 rewards. All customers are now on a specific tier. Blue, Silver, Gold, Platinum.
Gold is pretty much select as it has a 3 month early upgrade. Platinum has a 6 month early upgrade.
