Utterly Dissapointed

I have been a customer for quite a few years. My husband is a relatively new customer, 2 years. He received a phone call from O2 back in March. We are both due to upgrade this year.
He was offered an early upgrade and for O2 to pay the settlement amount on his contract which he took advantage of, due to technical issues O2 have only just been able to honour this.
Anyway I'm due to upgrade in August, I contacted O2 to see if I could take advantage of this offer as I only have £40 settlement amount left...the answer..NO!!
Well thank you O2, thank you for nothing, the years of custom, your losing a customer over £40!!!

There's no such thing as loyalty any more, at least not on O2's part. Call Customer Service again and select the option that you want to leave. They may sing a different tune. If they don't, ask for your PAC if you want to keep your number, and find another provider.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Are you sure the settlement offer was from O2 and not a "trusted partner" like Aerial Communications or CPW, as I've never heard of O2 doing this?

Accepting an upgrade offer from a cold call can be fraught with risk.

It actually does sound as if the phone call offer the husband received was probably from a trusted partner? If it was Aerial this is probably why, when you rang O2 they refused to give you the same. It may well be your husband was offered a business contract, if it was Aerial he dealt with.....

O2 do this occasionally for selected customers but it's more normal for the likes of CPW etc.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I would say it was almost certainly a trusted partner and if indeed it was Aerial I would be thankful not to get the same call. Has your other half received any paperwork at all?

That's probably why you weren't offered a deal by O2. The Refresh tariff is considered pretty good, in that once the device plan is paid off....you can walk away. No other network does that...
