Anyone else on an iPhone 15 series who’ve updated to iOS 18 noticed that they have a toggle for Stand Alone in their network setting under Voice & Data?
Mine’s greyed out but wasn’t there before iOS was released at 18:00 today.

I don’t think so, it was removed with the below reasons:

I've been told that the latest eSIMs should support SA on iPhones only but that does not seem.to be the case.
The 60% of the country that use Android have to use the latest plastic sim cards.
I reckon most SA masts are fairly idle at the moment

It took days and one of the mods getting involved for mine to be sent over. You might want to reach out to O2 on social media to ask for a replacement R15 eSIM. Make sure you say it’s for an iPhone 16 and stand alone.

Hello all. A solution to get an eSIM with 5G Standalone activated is to simply ask for eSIM swap for a new eSIM with 5G SA. My 5G Standalone toggle on my old eSIM was greyed out and today I’ve asked for a new eSIM with 5G SA. Got it within few minutes in My O2 app then installed it and activated it and 5G Standalone is now on and working for me without any problems Don’t forget you need an iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max or new iPhone 16/Plus/Pro/Pro Max.
Tip: I have contacted O2 via platform X as I find them more helpful and understandable than people on the phone when calling a Customer Support. However it takes a while for O2 to respond via X so please be patient - it will be worth it

Hi,
I just asked for new SIM & received it - ( appears in O2 app for install ) - but ‘still’ has SA greyed out….
This is my third e-Sim and all same
So, how come you are able to get this ?

Have you asked for a new SIM/eSIM with a 5G Standalone activated? It seems like they have SIMs with and without 5G Standalone activated. If you don’t specifically ask for a SIM with a 5G Standalone they will probably give you a “basic” one. My eSIM card has O2 Standalone activated and it’s working fine.

And Android users have to take pot luck with a plastic SIM as I am reliably informed that none of the eSIMs will work
Looks like they don't want people to use it

Hi, thank you.
I will ask again - my guess is they were not clear what SA was…..
