Anyone else on an iPhone 15 series who’ve updated to iOS 18 noticed that they have a toggle for Stand Alone in their network setting under Voice & Data?

Mine’s greyed out but wasn’t there before iOS was released at 18:00 today.

Annoyingly if you have an open order (such as a pre-order) you can't make a request for a replacement SIM grin

Always use plastic for your main SIM. Too many problems with eSIMs, especially with O2

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Hi @Kei-M_O2 , Just like @Clever_Trevor I’ve got a iPhone 15 Pro Max on an eSIM.

The option was greyed on for 5G SA

I just called up O2 and said that I couldn’t get 5G SA as it says that my current sim doesn’t support 5G SA.

They said that my eSIM was showing as expired strangely despite everything working fine and able to make calls.

They sent over a new eSIM which I activated but still it says the same thing and I can’t get 5G SA

I’m on iOS 18 and network provider is showing as O2 59.1 so everything seems to be setup for getting 5G SA but there seems to be an issue.

Any ideas? Surely the eSIM I have just been issued would be the most up to date and have 5G SA

@ReaperHDX

To be honest, although they where released, doesn't mean o2 issue them as yet.. Especially as o2 haven't announced anything about SA enabled eSims

All Carrier Profile 59.1 does is enable the setting, and if you really want to use what limited coverage there is of 5G SA then Physical Sim is the way to go, and you will have lots less issues, and I would advise people to avoid eSims unless used as a secondary sim..
