I'm in 2 minds.....the first is saying WOW IT'S A 4K SCREEN but the second is saying IS IT WORTH IT ON A SUB 6 INCH SCREEN.

It might be the first phone you can fry an egg on too!!

It certainly looks like a fabulous phone. But it doesn't look like it'll be available through o2. Maybe it will what with it being listed a month later than the other two models in November.

I like getting my phones through Refresh now rather than buying them outright. After years of buying iPhones outright and getting sim only plans I've come to love the Refresh scheme. Especially if you're happy with staying with your network; like I am with o2. You can pay your phone off when you like and get a new one. Fab.

I'm currently on a Z3+ which looks to be their slimmest and lightest yet. It wouldn't be worth me upgrading to the Z5. Anyone noticed that the standard Z5 is thicker and heavier than the Z3+? Maybe they needed to due to the overheating of the chip and issues with the dissipation of that. It's gone back to the original Z3 dimensions and weight from a year ago. And this Premium model is larger and heavier still. That should be taken into consideration if you like one handed phone use. This is a phablet sized device.

Anyway, I have the Z4 LTE tablet too which has a 2k screen. You can't tell the difference between it and the Z3+ FHD 1080p screen so I think it's overkill having a 4k screen on an even smaller 5.5 inch screen. What is the point?

I for one feel more comfortable and in no need to upgrade this iteration round. I actually feel happy and proud again having a Z3+. Stranger things have happened.

[Edit]

And also since it had a software update to the latest build today. The first in two months. Kill them bugs out!

Some interesting and valid points. Phone manufacturers rely on the general public wanting the very latest in tech but truth be known, there is little in any of the imminent releases that is going to be true groundbreaking. More often than not it is a case of manufacturers catching up with competitors and marketing it as new and innovative.

What you need to ask yourself in all honesty is what does your present phone do that the new model will do better? My eyesight and my hearing problems (and actual usage) would not be noticeably affected by a zillion megapixel camera or brilliant 4K display. A bigger screen does it for me, android as well obviously, but tell me how a Note 5 will enhance the user experience from my Note 4 given my imminent retirement, taking photos that are only shared with family, listening to the music collection gathered over happier times and my soon to be constant semi inebriated way of life.

Yes it's nice to have a new toy but a new phone may feel good inwardly but only until the next latest and greatest is released a few months later.

I hate Apple in every way shape and form and their cost for outdated technology....but at least they only release a model once a year. The android market seems to have some form of variant released monthly

Ok shoot me now LOL

I guess it's thicker to house the wireless charging gubbins?

Personally I think the thinner phones look nice but I feel they are at greater risk of bending and breaking (they may not be but thats how I feel)

I prefer larger screens and have a Note 3 which does everything I need it to...

It isn't a phone I use for work so it will probably last me a lot longer than most...

I assume it's glass front and rear like the rest of the Z range, so shouldn't be liable to bending anyway....?

I would think so too but glass back and front for me isn't a good combination.
