Rewards Service Call - is it a spam/con?

I have just received a call from 0161 212 7801, claiming to be from 02 rewards department, but I was a bit suspicious as the didnt have my email details. Can you advise if this was a valid call?

Rewards only ever send text messages, never heard of them using a landline number

I am fairly positive that it isn't an O2 number. Much more likely to be spammers.

the only rewards number i found was 313, definitly not that landline

Just had the same number ring me today ! I was out so i did not catch the call. When i ring back there is no dial tone, just a deaad line . DID a search and it seems its a scam to offer you better deals on your phone. Added to block list.

I have received a call from these today stating i have been with O2 for some time and they have rewards they want to give me, they want to send me a new handset and other offers, they asked what kind of phone i was using, i replied you should know if your calling from O2.....they hung up!!  Tried to dial back and line was dead

You probably did the right thing. Chances are, if a deal sounds too good to be true....:smileywink:
