Purple spots showing on camera

Anonymous

Hi,

I have only just noticed that on the galaxy s6 front facing camera, before and after taking a picture that it shows random purple spots on the screen? I have factory reset my phone and it still shows the dots? Only comes down to hardware problem?

Anyone else experienced this on the S6 (32GB)?

Shall I send it back to shop, I have had this phone since April

Since Samsung will try and REPAIR the phone - but more than likely send a new S6 to me - would that be a refurbished handset or a brand new one?

Right, just had to check the teardown, the camera module connects to the rear of the main board so to fix it they need to take off back, remove battery, remove main board and then replace the sensor. Then they would have to flash a new firmware that has the correct cam firmware.

50/50 on fix or replace, if replaced, I would expect a refurbished unit tbh

It's not a faulty cam module though so they'll likely just replace the phone unless they have a firmware fix for it.

Just spoke to Samsung Repair Centre in Norwich (Anovo Company Ltd) they said they have managed to repair the phone, mentioned it was (NOT a hardware problem) so in other terms it was a firmware camera fix they did.... hmm?

They will dispatch the phone today and will receive it by the latest Friday. We will see if they rectified the problem...will let you guys know.Rolleys

hey... this is teh start of screen bleed from teh inside of the LCD the same thing happened to mine and it got progressivly worse over a 2 day period.. it was found that the phone was over heating whilst on charge and caused the screen to pretty much blow from the inside out causing pink dots and screen bleed... if you take it back to store and discuss with them samsungs do have the notorious trouble of getting very hot whilst on charge and with the s6 you can not remove the battery or back to let the phone cool down so once it over heats it is a bit of an issue... , mine was the 32gb edge....
