brought one of the family over to O2 and the porting worked a little too well 😶
Ordered the monthly SimOnly and put in the PAC number. Order process was very easy.
The old number was ported before the new sim arrived in the post (next day). The good is that when the sim arrived it worked with the ported number straight away. The bad is that had a day without phone, unless was on Wi-Fi.
Ordered another SimOnly today for other family member, so will see if the previous was a one off or not.

Well new Sim Card has arrived. O2 and the Post Office in perfect harmony.
Now wait to see on the porting which by previous experience should be tomorrow and be smooth sailing.

So, as you have all been on tender-hook awaiting the outcome 😁. The whole process was seamless and as expected.
Ordered new sim on 18 July (via Uswitch, completed on O2 website, additional line)
Sim arrived on 19 July
Number ported on 20 July
Perfection. I suspect that this is generally the case but great to experience it in action.
