Does anyone know if there is a way to create a Permalink to a specific message in the various Boards of this Community.  Permalinks are a useful way of dirceting someone to a helpful message instead of trying to repeat its contents.

@AnonymousI don't know if this is what you mean but you can link to a specific post by right clicking on the post number and coying the link location

eg in your post above right click on the '3' in the Message 3 of ... under your Name and you can then paste that into a table of links with a description that you could save to your PC and insert into posts as you see fit.

Admin can sticky threads etc but I don't believe a member with limited access can perform as you describe which is why I find it enough to insert links to help pages or previous threads / posts

It is easy enough to copy an URL to link to a particular page in another thread, but that seems to be as far as "normal people" (as @Toby would call us Smiley LOL)  can go.   Perhaps it is not a feature that too many people want or need.

I've noticed the option is there from the search results page - Not sure if that's always been the case or if it's part of the new search facility?

That does indeed sound exactly what I meant @aldaweb. I am not at my PC at the moment but I will check when I get home. Many thanks.

A couple of days ago Chiara asked if we liked the 'New search facility'. I had no idea what she meant...could she have been referring to this?

It's the same as giffgaff now, but can't say that I can remember if it was there before or not?

Hi again @aldaweb   That is certainly the sort of permalink feature I would like to see in the options menu of all messages.  As it is the one on the search page just allows you to copy a link you can use to direct others (or yourself at a later date) to that specific search results page.
