Hi guys,
I hope you're all doing well!
Towards the end of 2014, the community team mentioned that we intend to hold a few discussions based on some of the actions and programmes we conduct on the community. One of these topics is the community guidelines themselves, which you can read here.
These guidelines have been used since this team took over management on the community and while a few minor amendments have been made, they have remained mostly consistent for a long period. It's often difficult to cover all bases in detail in community guidelines, as while a thorough set of rules helps to govern a community, too many rules and regulations can also provide a very inhibitive atmosphere - something our team wants to avoid for your benefit.
However, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the guidelines. What aspects do you think are very important? Which parts need more explanation in your view? Is there anything you would add or remove?
While we want to hear your thoughts, below are a few points from our perspective that need to be taken into account when posting your views:
We're really excited to hear your thoughts and I hope you will enjoy posting your views on this!

Wanty's has been running for 7 years (I think) which is why it has reached that number of pages. A recent Apple launch thread on here reached a similar number of pages in just three months.
It was mainly full of people asking the same questions...
However...if it goes it goes. I hope it doesn't
By the way, it was agreed and supported by the 'moderational team' who managed the forum at the time.

Thanks gerry for your educated opinion. It was always a place to have fun and was started by an O2 employee originally.
it was the original and at one time only off topic thread which is why it grew.
You yourself have posted there and contributed your share of off the wall posts in many threads.
I said in my first post that nothing will change and if an off topic thread interests me I will contribute. Last I knew, you had the same privilege. ...

I have to admit, although Wantys Place looks like a nice chit chat casual talking thread, I do find it a little fast paced.
Firstly, it seems like it is the same members that are posting in it so I feel like a bit of a lone ranger when I try to post in it.
That's just my opinion - maybe other members (old and new) agree, maybe they disagree.

Absolutely anyone is welcome to post in Wanty's but you do need to bring a bottle sometimes. ....

Not sure what your are implying there. - I have never questioned anyone's "rights" or "privilages" to contribute or otherwise. I was referring to the Off Topic/ No Off Topic sub-theme that regularly raises its head in the Community and suggesting that the anti-Off Topic caucus have a good case by reference to the Wanty's Place thingy. Whether it goes or stays is a matter of supreme indifference to me since I no longer venture there.
