O2 has confirmed to ISPreview that they’re also emailing existing mobile customers to forcibly move them to the new pricing policy, albeit with a right to exit their contract as a result. This is as opposed to the usual approach, where such changes only occur for new customers or via natural re-contracting at the end of a contract term. We don’t think VMO2 are going to win too many adoring fans with this one
Personally I hope for a mass exodus

That is the standard text you get when you text INFO to 85075 so nothing new..
If you are leaving keep hold of that message .. you may need it.

I'm seeing a great way to get a brand new £2000 phone for free here if this is correct......

I honestly don’t know who to believe at this point. The ETC that I am supposed to have is in my O2 App, yet I got the ETC price of £0.00 on my phone when I texted INFO to 85075.

@Starkers1997 Same here. But such anomalies are usual for O2.
Technically I haven't had the text re my phone, only one about my none existent watch!

I got "the e-mail" about 3 hours before I went through the upgrade process to move from a Standard, bundled, contract that was in its 24th month to a 12month SIMO - so, technically, I have not received notice yet either, as my SIMO agreement received 18:30 13-Nov is all about the RPI+3.9%, the e-mail extract below received 15:30ish on 13-Nov...?!
Remember - I had a "standard" bundled deal from a reseller at the time the below was received 😎
85075 INFO just now thinks I can go, zero charge:
The e-mail received 15:39 13-Nov-2024 🤷

Just cancelled my 60GB / £9.99 contract with o2 and jumping ship. An 18% increase a few weeks after signing a new contract is a joke. Retentions team were kind enough to offer me a special offer of 30GB / £14 🤣
