O2 has confirmed to ISPreview that they’re also emailing existing mobile customers to forcibly move them to the new pricing policy, albeit with a right to exit their contract as a result. This is as opposed to the usual approach, where such changes only occur for new customers or via natural re-contracting at the end of a contract term. We don’t think VMO2 are going to win too many adoring fans with this one
Personally I hope for a mass exodus

Yes, same with me. One of them even tried to tell me that my "right to exit" due to the email expired in December, even though they only sent out the email two days ago. Worryingly, she said she was reading it off her computer screen. Are things at O2 hanging together with string and spit?

"Are things at O2 hanging together with string and spit."
Seems that way, and it's getting worse. The string is beginning to fray and the spit is drying out.

Definitely seems to be 😞 , with the last agent they just requested a PAC code and finished with when you leave you'll pay exit pen. Disregarded what I said earlier 😞

I still had the same issue when I called yesterday - and decided to (hopefully) try next week when the staff are clearer.
FYI; Ex-VirginMobile customer who was forcibly migrated to O2, and I'm leaving as the £1.80 fixed price-rise means my bill from April will effectively increased by 27.60% - and that's on my cheapest line!

Same as you where forcibly moved from t-mobile, to EE, to Vodafone and then o2, the forcibly moved line is starting to wear thin..
Sorry to say but every network is doing the same, and there is no way of getting around it if you stick with a MNO, but you might with the likes of giffgaff

No one was forcibly moved from Virgin as you were given the option to leave, just as you have the option to leave now.
Where to go? Well there is a Vodafone / Three merger coming up so no doubt at some point that will effect their customers and those on their associated MNVOs.
Mobile networks are not static
