Number transfer on a weekend

Anonymous
Not applicable
Just wondered if anyone else has encountered this -

Upgraded my iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5 yesterday afternoon and the girl in the shop said my number would probably transfer over quite quickly but could take up to 12 hours. 20+ hours later and my number still hasn't transferred so I spoke to an advisor on O2 chat and they said that as its a weekend it won't transfer until Monday! As you can imagine, I'm not massively impressed - surely if this was the case the girl in the shop would have told me that?! And if it is the case, it seems a ridiculous thing to do - I'm sure I'm not the only one that wouldn't want to wait nearly 3 days to use my new phone?!
