Joggler not receiving Sky News/Sports/Weather Updates

Anonymous
Not applicable
Has anyone else noticed a problem with their Joggler over the last few days ? Sky News, Sports or weather updates all appeared to stop on December 29th. Traffic and the calendar still work okay, so there is no connection issue. I have also tried powering down and back up and a factory reset. Any ideas ?

Thanks
Nick

Spoke to Joggler support - they are looking at it and should have reply this week - funny that's what they said the week before.
I reckon its a cache ? problem. Streaming works fine, but I think when it downloads news etc - it stores it. It seems as though the cache is not being emptied and gradually fills up.
If I don't get a reply then its back with the unit for repair or replacement!

Yes, mine seems to have suffered the same fate. The news etc is definitely stored in the device, because if you disable its network it is still able to display the news items.

factory reset appears to do very little, and the software update button is the same.

No sign of the app store 😞

Wish I knew how to get it back to its out of the box condition.

looks like its back to the shop for this one if it doesnt update soon.

I eventually got through to the Technical Support Team (most people in o2 do not know what a joggler is).
Apparently the manufacturer is trying to replicate the problem as a number of people are now experiencing problems. All news and weather feeds have given up the ghost. Should have an answer this week they say. I have a case reference number and will be seeking replacement or refund if no success

How do you get through to support for the Joggler, is there a number to call?

Just spoke to O2 Support and they confirmed there is a problem which the manufacturer is investigating. They have a date of 8th April for the resolution, although no guarantees. The fault reference O2 said that covers all these issues is 5997207 and you should quote this when you call for any updates to the problem.

I did a bit a sniffing on the IP data leaving the joggler and even though the news isnt updating it certainly does make a call to the sky.com news feed when you press for an update, but after that there is an error which may be related to the problem. However I dont see the news feed coming back to the joggler.

HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request (text/html)

For sue though, when the 'software update' button is pressed, no requests leave the joggler.

The App store appeared on mine a week ago or so, but then old favourite of the sky news and weather not updating is still there.

Anyone else still having this issue?

OK I have managed to get my Sky News / Sports / Weather working again.

I had to telnet in to the device (see www.joggler.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=197).

Then I edited the file /openpeak/tango/cookiejar.txt to remove all lines beginning "o2active.sky.com".

I then rebooted the device and the feeds were working.

Disclaimer: this worked for me, but of course I can't guarantee it will work for everyone else - and proceed at your own risk.
