Joggler not receiving Sky News/Sports/Weather Updates

Anonymous
Not applicable
Has anyone else noticed a problem with their Joggler over the last few days ? Sky News, Sports or weather updates all appeared to stop on December 29th. Traffic and the calendar still work okay, so there is no connection issue. I have also tried powering down and back up and a factory reset. Any ideas ?

Thanks
Nick

OK, I've enabled Telnet but could someone please tell me how I get to and edit the file in question? I'd be ever so grateful!

Thanks!

OK, I've worked it out. Once telnet-ed into the joggler, I navigated to the appropriate directory with the cd command. Then used the vi command to edit cookiejar.txt, deleting the hundreds of lines starting with the o2active.sky.com thing! Brilliant! Hopefully O2 will sort out a fix for those who aren't so confident tinkering!

Thanks to the poster who suggested this!

Brilliant, problem solved. Had to do a bit of digging to understand how to edit the cookiejar file, but the info was available on google.

To delete the unwanted lines I moved the cursor to the start of that line then typed xxd, where xx is the number of lines you wish to delete. I basically just deleted 10 lines at a time until I knew exactly how many were left then got rid of them. I exited the editor by entering :q

Here's the website that explains all the commands in more detail...

If you're feeling brave check out the links above to clear the cache and get it working again! Pretty poor though that this is still an issue.

o2 are liasing with Sky at the moment to get Sky to stop sending feeds that clog up the Joggler with cookies. This should solve the problem you've been having. Until then the best way to fix it is to telnet in as in previous members posts and clear it out. slight_smile
