Hi all
Not sure whether this is just a problem with my netbook...or something affecting others.
2 nights ago the Forum went down for about an hour around 2am in the morning....(I was getting the Oops we are having a problem' message)
The following morning (yesterday) all seemed back to normal...except the message reply box?
The Insert link>Insert picture>Insert video boxes are now being displayed (for me) in a completely different format. No longer the usual colour and design but black and white.
*The insert link feature is not working....
*Spellcheck is not working....
I cannot take a snip to show you as I don't have that facility on this netbook
As I say this is happening on my MSI netbook. I rarely use my phone to access the forum
It just seems coincidental that it all happened after the forum went offline?

@Cleoriff wrote:Hi @Anonymous If I try to paste a link from an outside source into the box and press ok...the link disappears and doesn't paste.(or post)
I can only post that link by pasting it directly to message without using the box.
I use Firefox and have only just started having this problem...
Hi @Cleoriff When you paste the external link in the URL box, type in something meaningful in the TEXT TO DISPLAY box (something like "Link to page about Cats", but without the quotation marks) - that is the text that will appear in your message for readers to click. For example This link opens BBC News page for Northern ireland
Hope this helps.

Don't forget to change the "target" depending on where you want the link to open to (tip, a new window is more user friendly).
@MI5 Alternatively, users can right click on the link and select to open in new tab or new window - at least those like me who are digital dinosaurs and still using Microsoft Internet Explorer!!!

Thanks for your helpful comments @Anonymous I certainly have had a lot to take in today.
I learn new things by absorbing a little at a time and then trying it out a few times (to get the hang of it) ...so that will be my plan now...:smileywink:
Too much info and my brain tends to go into overload...and promptly shuts down...
I do find it amusing that this brain shut down never happens with medical technology though...

The last box in the insert link dialog box is "target". Your choices are to open the link you've posted in this window or in a new window.
Thanks for this @MI5 ...I now 'get' what you are saying...
Today is not just a school day...its a University day for me....
