Hi all

Not sure whether this is just a problem with my netbook...or something affecting others.

2 nights ago the Forum went down for about an hour around 2am in the morning....(I was getting the Oops we are having a problem' message)

The following morning (yesterday) all seemed back to normal...except the message reply box?

The Insert link>Insert picture>Insert video boxes are now being displayed (for me) in a completely different format. No longer the usual colour and design but black and white.

*The insert link feature is not working....

*Spellcheck is not working....

I cannot take a snip to show you as I don't have that facility on this netbook Smiley Frustrated

As I say this is happening on my MSI netbook. I rarely use my phone to access the forum

It just seems coincidental that it all happened after the forum went offline?

I am back home now and using my UK laptop and still having the same problems....

(With the 'inserting a link' issue I can see more clearly now what happens)

If the link is from here (O2) it will paste using the box... ie paste in URL section Press OK and it pastes in message box

Snip LINK.JPG

IF the link is from an outside source ie PC Advisor etc etc...I now have to paste that directly into the message field without using the Insert Link box....

This is what's different (for me anyway)

Is this the same for others? Smiley Frustrated

Ar you sure @Cleoriff ?     hat is happening when you copy the URL from an outside source and you try to paste it in the URL box in the Insert Link dialog box?   It is working fine for me using IE11 and that normally means it is working in all other browsers.

(ot doubting your word at all, you understand - just interested to know what is going on.)

Use Insert Link when that is what you want to do i.e. post a URL that a reader may click on and be taken to a new page somewhere.

Use Copy and Paste in body of message when what you need to do is include an extract or exact copy of words/pictures etc from another source (and of course you should always give details of your source).

Don't forget to change the "target" depending on where you want the link to open to (tip, a new window is more user friendly).

Hi @Anonymous  If I try to paste a link from an outside source into the box and press ok...the link disappears and doesn't paste.(or post)

I can only post that link by pasting it directly to message without using the box.

I use Firefox and have only just started having this problem...

The last box in the insert link dialog box is "target". Your choices are to open the link you've posted in this window or in a new window.
