Fed up with PPI and Loan texts

Anonymous
Not applicable

My wife's O2 phone is getting inudated with PPI and Loan texts. 2 to 3 a day is about normal.

She is careful to whom she has passed her mobile number out to, so it's not of her doing or anyone elses that has her number.

This leaves one prime suspect - namely O2.

How do we get these texts to stop but we are totally and utterly fed up with them. If they don't cease, we will both be changing out mobile phone providers.

I just got a new number, (only gave my number to a couple of people) and one of the first texts I received was from PPI and I forwarded the text to 7726 and not received anymore.

It not only happens on O2.  People get texts about PPI and loans etc that are on other providers too.

I think Grenjs much prefers their theory that O2 is responsible.Smiley Indifferent

PPI, Spam, Injury Lawyers, Ambulance chasers,

If you are pestered with text messages.

All the major mobile networks in the UK do their bit to help prevent spam text messages. So before you delete a spam text message you should forward it to your network provider so they are able to identify the sender as a spamer and block the number.

Never reply to a text or text stop as this lets them know that the number is active. Make sure the senders number is included in the text you send so that it can be dealt with.

Numbers to forward to Orange, Vodafone, o2, and T-Mobile 7726.

Three 37726. Jasper_Gee

Reply from o2.

It's quite OK to text STOP to a UK company and they can be prosecuted if they don't comply.
