Has the strategy of retaining stock of iPhones for their own stores backfired on Apple ?

Incremental updates are the problem.
They need something new!

The issue with the iPhone 7 is it didn't bring anything revolutionary to the table, as @MI5 said there have been too many incremental updates to the iPhone.

They need to re-invent it, and that should be this year with the 10th anniversary, but only time will tell when we get close to release

And this despite reports to the contrary earlier in the year. We have seen on here that the last two launches have been nothing like as frenzied over previous years.

The article does state that they need to bring something NEW to the table for the 10th anniversary. Not sure they will though. Apple seem to be arrogant in their belief that minor changes will do.
