Hi @Anonymous This is nothing to do with O2. You may have inadvertently subscribed to the service by clicking on a link
You have the details of the company sending the texts so you can call them yourself and ask them to stop. You can also change your marketing preferences in My O2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2
You should report them to the regulator phonepayplus http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/
Finally have a look at this guide about dealing with spam texts and calls http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Are-you-fed-up-with-spam-calls-and-texts-Follow-these-steps-to/m-p/386364#M37293

I did not click on any links or inadvertently subscribe to this company. If you bother to google the number you will see that 100's of other people have also recieved unsolicited text messages from this company and it seems to be well known. Vodophone can and does block this number on request (and many others like it) So are you telling me O2 cannot or O2 will not?

As I understand it o2 will not block this type of number individually only as a total premium rate bar.
But raise a complaint directly with the company involved via the details you have and also via phonepayplus to get your money back

@Anonymous I certainly have 'bothered' to google the number. All the information you gave is correct. I have also looked on the EE and Three forums. My reply remains the same. O2 wont block it. (Neither will the other networks) as some people actually WILL subscribe to the service
You can deal with it yourself and ask the firm for a refund... and also contact phoneplayplus. All the info and links given in my first reply.

So easy to sort but i find it hard to grasp why the op hasn't taken the initiative to do so.
