Hey, was just wondering if you can get numbers blocked, and how to go about it?
Thanx

Unfortunately o2 cant block specific number from calling you. It can be done on some handsets such as Samsungs where you can set up a block list.

Even those handsets which have the facility (some Samsungs, Sony Ericssons and Nokias) and those for which you can add software (Windows Mobile, Symbian, Android) rarely actually block the call.

Most of these facilities work by auto-reject. So the phone doesn't ring, but you still get notification of a missed call from the "blocked" number.

That's a different matter, you can ask customer services to set your marketing preferences so that O2 no longer call or text you.

If the calls are from other companies, then you can register with the Telephone Preference Service. It will then be illegal for anyone to call your number for marketing purposes. (tpsonline.org.uk)

You can report it to O2 as chances are its other companies that are ringing you. It was on the news/watchdog or something like that recently where a lot of companies ring pretending to be your network or on behalf of your network for insurance/upgrades etc. Worth reporting it to O2 and they should be able to investigate. slight_smile
