Hello every body in o2,
I just wanna write my story with o2 company to who may it concern.
I have bought a contact phone from the dealer for around 6 months ago and paid £500 for this golden special number, I already regitered it in my name but after 2 months it was impossile to topup, after a month I asked the custmer service in the o2 shop they were not involved in that cases and gave me the custmer service number who can help me, I have called the custmer service and they asked me about the passcode but it was impossible to remember it, it has been forgotten at all from my mind the custmer service at that time asked me about the other inormation and I had answered all, he told me the he will send a new replacement triple card.
next day I received the new card but when I put it in may phone it was no service again.
I called the cusomer service again and asked him to reactivate my new sim card, he asked me about the passcode which I could not remember it, the customer service man was like a robbot without any feelings
when I told him that the other personal information is provided, he said no sorry if you forgot the passcode for the pay as you go card you will lose the contact phone number.
and the surprice is when I sigend in my o2 account I found my account without number.
the main question is once I decided to be a client in o2 telecom and make a contract they cancel my chosen contact number which was very costy for me, what do you call this action,,,,,Is it marketing, terms and conditions or fraud.
I just felt sorry about that really...

Have you tried signing into My O2 and changing your password? It should tell you there what your current memorable information is.
Please do remove your mobile numbers as this is a customer to customer community. Use the drop down box to edit.

Hi @Anonymous I am reading your post and not sure if you are saying you bought the phone outright (ie £500?) You say it was working for 2 months and then you couldn't top up so you were sent a new sim.
It's difficult to know what went wrong if honest.
If you had a new sim then this is the advice to activate it http://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/activating-your-sim. (a PAYG sim needs a top up to get going)
I would suggest you buy a top up VOUCHER from any store which sells them . As it's a new sim it will need a voucher to top up in the first instance..

@Anonymous Please follow the advice given to you above. You are not on a contract. You have a Pay & Go tariff and sim, which is different to being on contract. If you were given a new sim after two months you would have had to swap your number from the old sim to the new in order to keep the number. If you cannot remember your password, that is not the fault of O2.

Hi thank you for your response,
obviously I said the truth, I paid £500 to get that number and after 3 month I tried to top up but it could not, and then it was like no service in it and after I got the new sim card still no srevice.
and when I try to top up I get this message''
The mobile number supplied is not a prepay O2 number.

it seems like my phone number has been changed or with someone else
but it was registered in my name with my personal information and I got the orginal sim + the new one ,I think it's enough to proof it.
it's not my fault if I forgot, all we are human and all we can face this problem, it is unfair to lose my contact number if I forgot my password.
If you don't beleive it sorry, no need to respond, thanks anyway for your help...

Oh I see. @Anonymous did you purchase the phone NUMBER? (I see you can purchase VIP numbers from Ebay and other sites) If you bought the number and it was supposed to work on any network then surely you have a problem with the seller?

@Anonymous No one is saying that you are not being truthful. What we are saying is that we cannot help you here. We are all customers here, just like you. You need to speak to customer service, or go back to whoever sold you the number. Good luck. Hope you can get your number back.
