Another Spam texts thread

Anonymous
Not applicable

Whilst I expect to be told that "o2 don't give out/sell your details", I just wondered if anyone could shed some light on these spam texts I have been recieving.

They are general PPI etc texts which address me by my Mother's name. This name is connected to my o2 account because she opened it for me when I was under 18. Since then I have got a new contract and number in my name, but still on the account bearing her's. I would like to know how the spammers know this name for my mobile number if the information has not come from o2? Thanks x

Spam texts can be forwarded to 7726.

There are many possible ways these people can get the details.
