Hi guys...

Some of you will know I am in Spain at present and normally use a netbook to access internet etc.

Due to various problems getting topped up (till today) I have reluctantly used my S3 for the first time on the internet....

Please bear with me, all you folk who ALWAYS use mobile devices when abroad..Smiley Frustrated

I found access to this forum very disappointing from my mobile. I expected the layout to be different but I did not expect so many features to be missing...

*There was NO access to smilies/emoticons

*I could never see who was online at that time

*Quick links were missing etc etc

I just wonder why that is on this forum? I am a member of 3 others and accessing them via mobile is exactly the same as when I do it via my computer Smiley Very Happy

(As you can see from my insertion of smilies I am actually on my netbook at present):cat_smiley:

There is a "request desktop site" in both your stock browser and in Chrome browser.
Press the 3 dots top right and scroll down the list to the tick box.

You need to switch to "desktop view" (browser settings menu), by default, this forum is always in mobile view.....

Mmmmmmm...technophobic question now then?

I usually access this forum via emails that come in re topics I am following? So are you saying scrap that...access the forum via Chrome and in that browser there is an option to change to desktop view?

Hi @Cleoriff

Sadly for me and other iOS users the omission of the Rich Editor is sometimes frustrating so I kind of know what you mean.

I've learnt not to use the available emoticons ,but do miss the ability to direct quote members and insert rich content such as pictures. 😞

Hope the sun has shown its face today for you.

@MI5  I am sure I must be doing something wrong as when I opened up O2 on my S3....I didn't have 3 dots, I had 3 lines?

When I touched those, it didn't show anything like your picture? It came up topics such as Shop, Business etc etc (nothing that gave me an option to change to desktop view?)

However, taking note of your info that it is 'set to mobile by default'...I scrolled down and at the bottom of the page were two words Mobile/Full view.

I clicked on Full view and voila...up it came, exactly as you said it should. Bouncy

(Probably because mine isn't the high tech S3 yours is?) wink

Thanks for that MI5 slight_smile

I know that the mobile view can be a little reduced at times guys. We're looking in improving that. Does anyone have an external example of a great mobile forum/site that they frequent regularly that you think is really effective? Fire away slight_smile

You should find the dots right next to the address bar - Pull down the screen to show it - This is on Chrome btw, I don't use stock browser anymore....

Hi

I frequent a few forum sites where I can use a rich editor etc.

Are you saying we can mention them here on this forum ?

If so as an example

MacRumors gives me full functionalit.

Another is phoneforums.org
