A MAST NEAR YOU ISN'T WORKING

Anonymous

My daughter lives less than 4 miles away from me but it may as well be the other side of the moon.  For more than a week now the O2 Live Status Check shows the following for her Postcode:-

Live results for BT27 x??, County Down

  •  Sorry a phone mast close to you isn't working
This means you might experience problems making calls, using the internet, or sending/receiving emails in this area.

That really is not very helpful at all.  What is needed is an indication of when repair work will be carried out and how long it is likely to be before normal service is restored.
What is the best way to get up to date and reliabkle information from O2 as regards network problems?

Hi  @Cleoriff   Carpe Diem?  Doesn't that mean "complain all day long"?  Should be motto of the O2 Users Club.

Sorry!   Mea culpa!

Off in search of sackcloth (ashes might be difficult - we have gas heating).

utd I've been guilty of going off-topic ..... ..... ..... here & elsewhere

I asked Gerry whose thread it is what his Latin signature meant

Can this part of the thread  be moved to off-topic please

& have a subject title something to do with 'Latin mottos' or such-like

I am mentioning Toby & Chiara here, as I believe, it will 'flag up' to them

Last Friday in Skipton town

4 friends around the table in a particularly cheap drinking hole:

Me:  My newish Nokia 515 recommended by @MI5 is working ..... ..... ..... O2 network

B:  smartphone is not working ..... ..... ..... 3 network

C:  smartphone is not working ..... ..... ..... t-mobile

😧  little phone is not working ..... ..... ..... Orange

C's phone working sometime soon after leaving Skipton town area

What was happening?

B & D's phone's not really right until Saturday

Does each mobile network provider have their own phone mast?

I'm just curious please

& chuffed my little Nokia on O2 working att fine

have a pleasant Sunday all

Yes each network has it's own infrastructure and some mast share.

Ie : O2 mast shares with Vodaphones in areas.

http://blog.vodafone.co.uk/2012/11/20/better-coverage-fewer-masts-your-complete-guide-to-our-network...

Each have their own drop outs and fringe coverage areas along with congestion possibly playing a part.
