Last month I started a  topic titled "Why is 5G not available on PAYG?"

Unfortunately, the forum trolls and know alls hi-jacked it, and it was locked.

Today, 1st July, I noticed that my phone is now showing that I'm getting 5G on my PAYG phone.

I've opened this thread to inform anyone who is interested, that 5G is now available on PAYG.

Best wishes.

Are you on PAYG or contract?

If PAYG, then good news indeed.

What area do you live in? (out of interest)

Despite all the doom and gloom predicted for PAYG on the community and amid much speculation, the fact that 5G is now available augers well for the future of O2's PAYG.

Maybe wifi calling will be implemented too as there is no valid reason for it not to be

My PAYG Big Bundle is also showing 5G this (Sunday) morning. I suspect that this is a phased roll-out as it wasn't showing 5G yesterday ! 👍

Speedtest on 5G :-

Download 98.9Mbps

Upload 1.19Mbps

Any suggested tweaks please for how to increase the Upload speeds ?

Probably 5G None Stand Alone which uses much 4G infrastructure. Not no much you can do regarding upload speeds

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Agreed @Enlli.

Settings > About phone > Status > SIM Status indicates "5G_NSA". 👍

It says in the FAQs here that PAYG customers are getting 4G and Wifi calling by the end of the year.
