I have a 20gb data sim. Is this capped to that amount so I can’t go over this & will I be notified when i’m nearing this amount?

It's 20gb of data included in the price you pay for the tariff. Your T&C's clearly state that you will be charged for going over and the bills are huge as I said they would be.
I'm afraid you'll have to pay for what you used unless you can find a sympathetic adviser to offer you a goodwill gesture.

You wont get any joy out of a third party, hether it's Aerial or a.n.other. It's a heck of a bill and one which.unfortunately, you are responsible for.
