when tethering using a usb cable does it use wifi or data?

@sharonh Hi, you will be using your mobile data, if wifi is available then just connect your laptop direct to wifi.

It is also possible to connect your laptop to your phone via wifi to use your mobile data.

As I said, as soon as you connect your phone to a PC or laptop etc it will use the phones mobile data plan to download anything.

It matters not what phone you have.
