Just a quick question regarding the iPhone 6. Will customers due an upgrade for their phone be given priority over pre-orders of the iphone 6?

I'm sure you guys are right and as we've already seen from recent threads some people have already not been happy at ordering a phone from the shop site and then received communication that it's now out of stock. 😞

Time will tell on this launch.

Going from past iPhone launches I can't and won't argue that as theirs no defence.

The networks surly will have been in or will have talks after launch with Apple on what amount of units they will receive. Then the networks have to run the ordering system to what they have and not perhaps what they hope to receive over and beyond an agreed amount of iPhones.

Communication is key.

Don't forget to factor in the "engineered shortages" by Apple (same as other OE's in fairness).....

The problem is that we know O2 will continue to accept orders, and take payment for phones they don't have in stock. People will be threatening to cancel and go to the independents where stock is usually better then waiting what seems forever for money paid to be recredited. We continually hope every launch will bring better organisation but it never does and this is annoying for customers having pre-ordered with promises of launch day delivery.

...for sure, there will be shortages however, I managed to pick an iPhone 4 on launch day (queued up outside Kingston Apple Store!!) and also the iPhone 5 on launch day (ordered from P4U) so I'm hoping my luck will last at getting the 6 on launch day as well...!!!!

I had to order my iPhone 5 using my email address to Apple. You submitted your details once a day at 8am and waited until 9pm to see if you got a return message saying you had been successful. 14 attempts later I picked it up from the Apple Store at Meadowhall.

Which is exactly why the iPad promotion is failing. And this close to the date of the iPhone 6..I can a lot of disappointed customers...with all promotions..:smileysad:

...why can't we get an official word from O2 regrading pre-orders?

If Apple tonight anounce that pre-orders will start on the 19th (as rumors are suggesting), we need an official statement telling us how it willbe handled!

I'm not prepared to pre-order from O2 if is going to be just pot luck! A pre-order should be a confirmation that you HAVE secured your iPhone 6 no matter what, on the day it is launched. It should not mean that you have a place in line, when and if, O2 secure more stock and if you miss out, your order is refunded to you (which is what it is looking like at the moment!!).
