I have to agree with you there, for me to take advantage of o2 refesh on my current iphone5 i have to pay £280, adding that to the £119 stated in the pricing link posted means i have to pay a total of £399.00 then add a 2yr contract (lowest cost one being £888) Total cost £1287. And thats for the 16Gb 5s.
If i que up at the apple store on the 20th pay £629 for a 32gb iphone 5s an continue to use the sim from my iphone 5.
I guess im queing up again this year, lol

normaly that would be true but O2 has no 4G here yet with no plans to upgrade it in the near furture (N.Ireland) so for the time being id still be using my 3G. Having said that i currently have a 1gb a month data plan and at the most i use half of that in any month, i usually just connect to local wifi hot spots which there are plenty of here. I know for some O2's offerings might be ideal but for myself i feel as things are at the moment buying from the Apple store is a better option.
Being a self confessed Apple iphone fan boy id upgrade to the new phone regardless of the 4G access but thats me, lol.

"...5s availability Sep 13 for pre order on the 5s.
Sep 20th in Uk stores."
I read that only the 5C was available for pre-order online on 13 Sept but the 5S was only available to order online on 20 Sept or to buy in the Apple Store.
If this is true I can predict chaos at Apple stores as when the original iPhones came out. The last two times I've ordered my 4S and 5 from Apple the week before and got it through the post on the day without any getting up at stupid o'clock and waiting in line at all!

Hi voxish99
Lots of people do what you suggest now by ordering online.
Alternatively others like the buzz of waiting inline discussing the subject with our people and enjoy the experience of going to the Apple Store to buy it. Its known Apple big up these launch days, especially in the States.
I'd be a bit embarrasses at all the clapping and whooping for joy as you walk in etc.
I bought my iPhone 5 from the Meadowhall Apple Store last year which could only be bought by submitting your e mail address in their reservation system, and then you were told by 9pm the same day by return e mail if you had been successful.
Took me 14 attempts {two weeks} to reserve one !
No matter how people diss Apple one thing they know how to do much better than any other mobile manufacturer, is the customer experience.
When I bought my iPhone 4s from an 02 High-Street Store as payg they sat me down, brought out the phone, took my money and ushered me out of the shop.
When I bought my iPhone 5 from the Apple Store they welcomed me to the store as I walked in, brought out the phone, asked me to open it, to check the phone over to make sure I was happy with it. Took me to a set up station and stayed with me while I booted it up for the first time, helped me back it up, discussed any concerns I may of had and escorted me to the door.
I'm in no way saying what 02 did was wrong or bad service but just to highlight the two shopping experiences I had.

I can only agree wholeheartedly there. My daughter's iPhone (bought through VF) was 8 months old when the top button became "sticky". Round to the Apple shop, 10 minutes later out with a new phone, no questions asked. Couple of days later the same happened to the main button. Back to Apple, out with a new phone (though did say they should really have sent this one for repair). Can't help thinking experience would have been very different taking a faulty Samsung back to O2/VF/EE or CPW

We usually suggest always approaching the phone manufacturer for support under their own warranty support process.
And as a last resort seeking assistance from a Network Repair Process.
Not many actually swap out the phone there and then like Apple typically do.
